Become a Volunteer
Watch the video below to get an overview about the Medical Reserve Corps, and what we do as volunteers as a part of the Hendricks Country MRC.
What do volunteers do?
The Hendricks County Medical Reserve Corps (HCMRC) provides an organized system for volunteering during large-scale emergencies such as pandemics, natural disasters, or acts of terrorism. Volunteers also work to improve the overall health and well-being of their communities by engaging in public health initiatives and community service throughout the year.
Who should volunteer?
The HCMRC needs volunteers with diverse talents, experience, and skills who can assist with: Communication, Security, Translation, Mental Health Care, Spiritual Care, Animal Care, Transportation, Administration, and Medical Care.
What is the time commitment?
The success of the HCMRC is based on the ability of volunteers to respond in a timely manner when needed. Before applying, we ask that each potential volunteer consider their family responsibilities, work commitments, and other possible limitations. We have regular meetings, training throughout the year, and community events.
You will be asked to create a username and password for Volunteer Impact which is the application site we use for our volunteers. Once completed, please fill in the application form, submit a headshot photo for your ID and you will receive instructions on training and the required background check.
